Moord kantoor
Our current production, "Moord Kantoor," is a gripping and multifaceted psychological drama about Mervin, a man who slowly fades from view. Ignored at home, bullied at work, and isolated, he loses all sense of connection.
“Moord Kantoor” is a film about the invisible struggle that takes place in the office and in the personal life of Mervin, an employee slowly descending into psychological distress. His colleagues notice his decline but find him irritating and see him as a disruptive presence in the workplace. No one truly steps in. Even a well-meaning HR manager ultimately turns out to be part of the system, one where we try to help people with good intentions, yet at the same time are part of a company that must earn money efficiently. Building a case to dismiss an employee is the business side but what is happening inside that person? And what underlying causes might drive their dysfunction?
The film addresses themes such as mental health in the workplace, social isolation, and the fine line between responsibility and victimhood. Without resorting to sensationalism, “Moordkantoor” reveals how easy it is to ignore someone and how difficult it is to truly see what is going on.
Through its underlying tension and discomfort, the film confronts the viewer with familiar situations: workplace bullying, managers who lead without genuine human connection, and how tensions at home shape our behavior at work. At the same time, the story offers a glimmer of hope: a moment of awareness, where the choice for life takes center stage.
“Moord Kantoor” invites conversation about inclusivity and diversity, and calls for greater attention to a more human approach in the workplace.
